A Night At The Circus

I was excited to hear that the circus was coming back to town. I love the circus! Cary was able to get us pretty good seats considering we waited until late to buy tickets. We arrived just in time for the pre-show. After we signed up to win the elephant painting (which we did not win) and got our free clown noses, we headed to the area where I knew the elephant would be coming out to paint. I was able to get a front row. After watching the clowns, trained dogs and a lady spin on some hoops, the elephant finally came out!

The theme for the circus was Dragon and there was a lot of Chinese influence. In fact, I am sure we saw some of the Kung Fu guys at the school this past summer in China! They are impressive!

There were two high wire motorcycle riders which were impressive, but they were not my favorite.

I loved the tigers and lions! Although, some of the tigers were really grouchy! I would not have liked to have been the tamer in there with the angry tigers. The male lion acted as if he was bored the whole time. I believe that he was not ready for the circus act.

The lion ended by standing on a disco ball and kissing the lion tamer. No thank you!

There was the cutest little boy sitting next to us that was very well behaved. He kept rubbing my arm and pointing to the things he liked. During intermission, we gave him one of the clown noses we had picked up. He also liked it when Cary wore his nose!

The trained animals were a treat and I could see Max being a circus dog if he had some good training.

The elephants are always my favorite!

And being real, someone has the job of catching the elephant poop and boy did it stink up the entire arena!

With the exception of the drama a few rows down, (We aren't sure what was going on, but it involved three women who drank too much being escorted out by the police.) the circus was a hit! The dragon was a disappointment and I think they could have tried a little harder to make it look like a real dragon. Everything else was great!

A Surprise First Wedding Shower

My sweet first grade class surprised me with a wedding shower yesterday afternoon. Two of my girls had been acting strange all afternoon, but I thought they were working on something for Girl Scouts. Around 2:15 when we were getting ready to head out for recess, several moms arrived with shower supplies! We had all the "traditional" shower eats such as cake, nuts and mints. The kids especially enjoyed the "fancy" sherbet punch. The children made me cards that had my married name (Mrs. Hurt) on them and thought it was so funny to call me Mrs. Hurt instead of Ms. Trammell. One of the moms brought her wedding veil for me to wear. I hope mine is not that heavy! They gifted me with a Target gift card that will certainly me used. It was sweet to have my first shower from my first graders!

What a fun way to end the week!

Easter 2012

My Easter weekend was wonderful! We were lucky enough to have Friday off so it made for an extra long weekend. I spent most of Friday helping out a good friend. Saturday we finally had some spring weather.  It was so nice to be outside working in yard, shopping at Bridge Street and taking a stroll around Twickenham. Saturday night we enjoyed a lovely Easter meal with Cary's family. Sunday after church we headed up to my Pe-paw's farm with my Dad's side of the family. The meal was delicious and the weather was wonderful!
My Pe-paw has a snowball tree in his front yard that is always so pretty. We missed the blooms by about a week, but I still wanted to get a few pictures in front of it. Of course, when we take the pictures ourselves, there are always more bad ones than good! By the way, notice how Cary's tie matches my dress. I planned that!

Everything was green on the farm!
My cousin noticed that my Pe-paw had a contraption that looked like it was for balancing. Well, turns out that it was just for that! My Pe-paw proudly showed off his balancing skills. For an eighty-eight year young man, he is in remarkably good shape.

Of course, I was not to be outdone so I gave it a try as well!

Robert Cyron Trammell Jr.

Like father, like son.

Later in the afternoon, Cary decided that he would also not be outdone so he gave the balancing board a try! Nice job Cary!

I gave it one more try. I may have to make one for my house.

It was a great Easter on the farm!

God's Promise

Yesterday, this is what I saw after a long day of work. It was a perfect reminder of God's promise and that I am where I need to be!

As I drove to church straight from work, the rainbow became a double rainbow and looked as if it covered the entire city of Huntsville.
I loved that my three year olds were all excited about the rainbow as they came to Bible class last night!
It is the little things that make me happy!

Good-bye Seagrove

Our last morning at the beach was pretty relaxing! We got by brother's family out the door early and then had a few hours before we planned on leaving. Cary and I had one last stroll on the beach. Look at our cute footprints!

We had been watching people fish all week, but had not seen anyone catch a fish until the last minutes on the beach. We stood around and watched a guy pull a pretty good sized fish out of the ocean.

We had a good drive home and I was able to finally get a book read on the trip home. Cary and I had a quick turn around as we left for Atlanta early the next morning. Spring Break went by way too fast!

Everything's Blooming

Well, we kind of missed the spring weather and went straight to hot! Luckily, the flowers, shrubs and trees have all bloomed nicely. Everything is my yard is blooming. Even though I have tons of work to do to get everything back in shape, I have enjoyed all the blooms.
The azaleas are especially beautiful this year!

I was happy to see that one of the daisies that I planted last year came back!

The rose bush is beautiful as always!

I have several dogwood trees in my yard that are all blooming.
